We will begin our program in September with an Orientation and Parent Workshop. Here we will provide the supplies you will need, answer program questions and then we will work with you as you prepare to help your child on their spiritual journey to the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist.
During the months of November or December, you will bring your child to meet with a priest and talk about what they have learned so far, as well and get some time to just talk to a priest one on one. This is a great way to get to know our priests better, and it helps answer questions they may have and alleviate fears.
We will meet for a Parent and Child Workshop in November for final preparations for their upcoming First Reconciliation.
After the workshop and priest one on one, your family will attend a scheduled confession time, and you will all have the opportunity to attend confession. This is a wonderful bonding opportunity together as a family, and the start of a beautiful tradition of regularly attending confession together.
There will be a Parent Workshop in February. This will help as you are beginning the preparation for your child's First Communion.
We will meet for a Parent and Child Workshop in April for final preparations for their upcoming First Communion.
First Communion will take place during the Sunday Masses in May. This allows the parish to celebrate this wonderful spiritual milestone. Together as a parish community, we will pray with and for our students who will receive the Eucharist for the first time.
The majority of preparations will take place at home with provided materials.
Sign up links will be sent out to each event. All multiple date events are booked on a first come basis, as these events have a maximum capacity. Reminders will be sent frequently throughout the year.
All of this information will be discussed at the orientation in September.
