REGISTRATION OPENS JUNE 1 FOR "SLOW & GROW ROCKY RAILWAY" PACKETS!

Vacation Bible School is a bit different in 2020, but we're still ready to climb aboard for mountains of fun with "Slow & Grow Rocky Railway" at-home packets! On this faith-filled adventure, families will discover that trusting Jesus pulls them through life’s ups and downs.

Richland Lutheran Church is excited to be offering a more relaxed take on VBS for your family. Occasionally, God presents us with the opportunity to what I like to call “Slow & Grow.”

“Slow & Grow” is an idea of dialing back the noise of the world and tuning in to the presence of God. “Remember the Sabbath, and keep it holy…” Exodus 20:8. “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31. “Be still, and know that I am God…” Psalm 46:10a. The world is full of noise and unexpected demands these days. It can be and is overwhelming for many, including children. And when we’re overwhelmed, the idea of “one more thing” can be just too much. So, your family is invited to slow the pace, quiet your hearts, and meander through the biblical truths presented through stories of how we are called to TRUST GOD! Together, you will grow in your love and knowledge of God’s mighty power, everlasting grace, and extravagant love that He has for you. And while this opportunity may have elements reminiscent of VBS, it is not “VBS at Home.” This, my friends, is a chance for you to slow...and grow. Take a Sabbath break this summer, here and there, as you can, with this opportunity with your family.

"Slow & Grow Rocky Railway" packets will include a Bible story book, a collection of Bible memory buddies, a journal activity book with daily questions and prompts related to the Bible story, coloring sheets, and other fun activities, God Sightings wrist bands (with instructions in the journal), and a Rocky Railway “cookbook” with special snack ideas.

*** We have a limited quantity of these "Slow & Grow Rocky Railway" packets and are being offered to our RLC families first! Slow & Grow packets are free!
*** Each "Slow & Grow Rocky Railway" packet will have enough items for all registered preschool and elementary-aged children in your home.
*** "Slow & Grow Rocky Railway" packets will be available Sunday, July 12, 3:00-5:00 PM, at a special drive-thru pick up at RLC. (No contact delivery to your door step is available on an alternate date if needed. Please contact Jenny for more info).
*** We have a very limited number of VBS song CDs available for purchase for $7 on packet-pick up-day.
*** PRE-REGISTRATION IS NEEDED! Registration is available (right here where you are!) beginning June 1 to reserve your "Slow & Grow Rocky Railway" packet. Packets are limited, and will be available on a first come—first served basis for RLC families. On July 1, any remaining packets will be available for others to register for.
