FAQ

What is VBS?
VBS stands for Vacation Bible School...because it is offered over the summer and is one way for kids to learn how they are loved by God.

What happens at VBS?
Kids are placed in mix aged groups led by adult volunteers and supported by youth volunteers.
Groups get to move through different stations and enjoy themed experiments or crafts, energetic games, interactive storytelling, super fun snacks, and amazing music.

What is the theme this year?
True North is a rugged Canadian adventure where kids are invited to find their way in a world gone wild, by orienting towards our True North - Jesus! The journey will help kids build a rock-solid foundation by pointing them to Jesus, their unmovable, unshakable friend forever! Every day has a different focus within the main theme, with a Bible point reinforced throughout each station. Kids will learn that we can trust Jesus: when we wonder, when we feel alone, when we feel powerless, when we need hope, and when we need help.

Do I have to go to church to register my child?
Not at all. Selkirk Community Church exists to connect with the community, and encourage others to connect with God. This is simply one way (and certainly not the only way!) of doing that.
