Missions Awareness Project 2021
This year at Treasured VBS, as a Missions Awareness Project your children will learn about children who are hearing about God in Papua, Indonesia.
The Dem Tribe in Papua, Indonesia is hearing about God in their own language for the very first time! Over the last several months, Families have been traveling to the new building and listening to the Bible from creation to how Jesus died for them. The Missions team has been working for over 11 years to learn the language, build friendships, translate the Bible and create lessons. The children of the Dem tribe have really no personal belongings or toys but they love to play soccer with the missionary families!
We would love to supply several soccer balls for their enjoyment!
We will also be helping pay for one of the children, Meiton’s, medical bills. He grew very sick and had to be taken by plane to seek medical treatment for tuberculosis of the brain. He is now slowly recovering.
Each day the boys and girls will compete to see which group can bring in the most change! As always, this is optional for your children. There will be no pressure or “shame” for not participating. For those who choose to participate, we thank you in advance for helping your children to participate and /or come up with creative ways to earn their own money to donate.
Each and every penny (all change and cash is accepted!) will be sent to Indonesia to purchase soccer balls and to help cover Meiton’s medical expenses! Let’s see how much we can donate!
