What is a Backyard Kids Club?

A Backyard Kids Club is a unique model for Vacation Bible School that takes place at a home, neighborhood park, or other site within the community.

How many clubs will HFC have?

HFC will host two Backyard Kids Clubs; a morning club (10am-Noon) and an evening club (6pm-8pm).

What are the dates for Backyard Kids Club?

The Backyard Kids Clubs will take place June 18th, 19th, and 20th. Plus there will be a fun kick-off event June 15th!

What ages are allowed to participate?

The clubs are designed for students entering Kinder through up to students who have completed 5th grade. PK students are welcome! Our day club is adjacent to a local park with lots of shade and a wonderful playground. Families with children younger than PK are welcome to come hang out with us during large group activities (craft, music, games) and encouraged to play on the playground during the lesson time. If you have any questions about your family being able to attend VBS clubs, please feel free to email Pastor Sarah at: PastorSarah@HFCOG.org

Who will be leading the club?

Each Backyard Kids Club will be staffed by a team of volunteers; These volunteers are HFC members and have been fully background checked using Secure Search Faith Background Check Service.

Who will be there?

Besides the background checked volunteers, students entering PK/Kinder - completed 5th grade are invited! Each club will be open to all children in the community, not just HFC families. Some parents may wish to stay at the club with their children, rather than leaving their children.

I want to help; what are the needs?

Each club will have a Bible Leader, a Craft Leader, and a Games Leader. The Host family will be passing out the snacks, but we need volunteers to help pre-package those snacks! If you would like to volunteer for one of these roles, please register here on the site by clicking on the volunteer tab at the top right of the main page.

If I sign up to volunteer as a leader, do I have to purchase the materials needed?

All materials for the Bible, Craft, Games, and Snack will be provided by HFC. The volunteers will not need to purchase anything.

What if I cannot help all three days of the club?

You can volunteer to help at the Kick Off Party on June 15th! Email PastorSarah@HFCOG.org for more info on how you can help with this one time, 2 hour event!

You can also pour over this event in prayer! Pray for the students/families who will attend, the host families, the team members, etc. For a prayer guide, please see the VBS Spotlight table in the main lobby, or email PastorSarah@HFCOG.org
