Preschool/KG FAQ

What Should My Child Wear To VBS?

VBS is full of hands on activity. Students should come to VBS in play clothes and closed toed shoes. Please do not send your child in flip-flops or sandals. Kids are running, jumping, dancing and having a great time and we don't want any hurt toes!

Where Do I Go On The First Day Of VBS?

Preschool registration and check-in is downstairs! If you have both elementary and preschool children, please drop off and check in your preschooler first.  You will also pick up your child from their classroom downstairs.

Where To I Pick Up My Child?

Safety is very important to us. For this reason we ask that all parent pick their children up directly from their Lead Teacher. We will not release students to the parking lot or upstairs on their own. Also, please make sure that you alert your child's teacher and Preschool Director if someone different will be picking up your child from VBS. Give the Teacher a name and phone number of the person who will be picking up and ask the individual to bring ID for pick-up.

What If My 3yr Old Wants To Attend With Their Older Sibling?

We understand that 3yr olds are very excited and eager to participate in VBS, especially if they have older siblings attending, however the program activities are geared for 4-5 yr old students. We don't want our participants to be too overwhelmed so we ask that little ones under the age of 4 wait for another year.  Special considerations may be made at the discretion of the VBS Preschool Director.

What Should I Do If My Child Has An Epi-Pen Or Medication They Need To Keep With Them?

Bring any emergency medication (epi-pen, inhaler, etc.) in a ziplock bag with your child's name clearly printed on the bag. Also include any special instructions in the bag. If your child needs to keep this medication with them at all times, please give it to the Lead Teacher. Otherwise drop it off in the main office upstairs. We will keep it safe while your child is at VBS and you can pick it up at the end of the morning.

What About Snacks? What If My Child Has Food Allergies Or Sensitivities?

Please let us know any food allergies or sensitivities on the registration form. We aim for most of our snacks to be free from common allergens and we will do our very best to accommodate allergies and sensitivities as we are able. However the best precaution you can take is to send your child with an alternative safe snack.
