Luther Memorial Church's Sunday school year begins with an exciting Kickoff Event on Sept. 10th. This event is designed for children to have fun while getting to know their teachers and one another. The official start date for Sunday school is September 17th.
Sunday school at LMC begins at 9:20am and takes place in the church basement. Prek - 5th grade begin in the lower level fellowship hall (down the stairs and to the right.) 6th - 7th grade students begin Sunday school in the Room 1 (down the stairs and first room on the left.) 8th grade - High School students meet in the Family Ministry Room for Sunday School (down the stairs and straight ahead.)
During the '23- '24 school year, PreK - 5th grade Sunday school students follow a rotational model that incorporates the theme and story into every rotation site.
- 9:20am - 9:35am - All Group Opening and Song Time
- 9:35am - 9:55am - Bible Lesson
- 9:55am - 10:15am - Activity/Craft (some students will begin in Activity/Craft at 9:35 and then proceed to Bible Lesson at 9:55am)
- 10:15am - 10:20am - All Group Closing/Recap
Throughout the morning, PreK - 5th grade students are intermixed for all activities. We have found that the older students love being helpers to the younger children while still learning the Bible lesson and craft. Younger students (unknowingly) assist older students by minimizing unhealthy competitive attitudes and enabling a nurturing attitude.
Middle and High school classes are in age-appropriate classes and focus on the study of Scripture while discussing how it applies to daily living with a missional (outreach oriented) mindset.
