Zoom
We will use Zoom for our online VBS, it's a video conferencing tool that provides online meeting rooms. The link to enter the virtual meeting room will be sent through the email address you provided in the registration. If you are using multiple devices for siblings you will need multiple email addresses. You may also use one device and one email address for multi-age students in your home. Once you receive the link, all you need to do is click the link "Join Zoom Meeting" on Monday June 21st at 10 am and you will enter an online waiting room. For security reasons do not share this link once you receive it.
When the VBS begins, we will open the virtual doors and your student/family will automatically be added to the Virtual Press Play VBS. Our VBS is set to begin muted for all the participants but you will be able to see and hear our leaders. You will always have the ability to decide if you want your video and/or audio on. If you do not turn on your video, the other participants will see a black square with your name so they know you are present. If you turn your video on we will see what your camera is focused on and that's where we can see all our VBS friends. As everyone arrives students will be muted at first to help with background noise, but don't worry we will unmute in small groups so we can share! Listening and taking turns talking is such an important skill, we will definitely get in some good practice. Protocol is to be on mute if you are not participating to help the background audio. If you have trouble staying connected, please keep trying. If you miss our opening session they will be posted later in the day online, however for privacy small group time will not be online. Online Manners
Providing a safe online experience is important to us and we need your help. As we partner together on this virtual faith adventure we have security protocols in place for VBS. We will only admit students to online VBS who are pre-registered. If a student is inappropriate in the large group or small group sessions they will be virtually removed from the online space and their caregiver will be notified. Your help: please do not share the Zoom link privately to friends or publicly on websites, blogs, or social media.
