VBS Leaders are Crew Leaders, Jr. Crew Leaders, and Station Leaders who are incoming 7th graders through 2017 high school graduates.

Leaders are ENTHUSIASTIC, RELIABLE, LOVE to share the love of JESUS, and ENJOY guiding K-6TH GRADERS.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE REGISTERING

Registration opens Tuesday, March 15, 2017

Requirements for ALL teen leaders (details below):

  • Available the entire week of VBS:  Monday, June 26th to Friday, June 30th from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM daily (Camper time is 9:30 PM to 1:00 PM)
  • Attend 2 Mandatory Training dates (even if you have been a leader in the past). Returning leaders are wonderful mentors for our first time leaders, and honestly, we are all always growing and are never 100% trained.
  • Attend one or more Work Party Session(s) 
  • Attend the mandatory Live Walk Through June 22, 2017 at 6:30pm  - 8:30pm
  • Sign-up for mandatory Clean-up

DETAILS:

Dates and times you will need to be available the ENTIRE WEEK of VBS:

Monday, June 26th  to Friday, June 30th  from 8 am to 2 pm in the Gym.

                             PLUS 2 Mandatory Training Sessions:

Please note VBS takes place Monday through Friday, it is very disruptive to the little campers when they do not have the same leaders for the week (it provides security for them) and is heartbreaking to some when their leaders are not there on the last day to wish them a proper farewell.  Friday is a very special day for the Crews. If you cannot commit to the entire week, please call our office for other opportunities to help.

Please note:  

Creating Peru There will be additional two hour work shifts available during the week of June 19th. During this time we turn St. Mary school gym into Peru! Please sign up to help set up during the week before or clean up on Friday, June 30th.  Sign up for your shift at Peru Set-Up and Clean-Up

 

LEADER JOB TYPE DESCRIPTIONS:  1 Crew Leader and 2 Jr Crew Leaders will be assigned a group of approx. 8 campers.  They stay with the same crew all week and take the campers through the stations.  Teens can only sign up for ONE POSITION. 

 Crew Leader, for teens going into grades 9 - 12

 JR. Crew Leader, for teens going into grades 7 - 8

 Station Leader They start their day welcoming the campers, then they will work at their assigned station. You have the choice of helping at the Crafts, Games, Photographer, Technology, Service Project and Music Stations.

 Bible Station Leader If you are interested in helping act out the Bible stories in the Bible Stories Station please contact Youth Ministry/Faith Formation office directly at 925-891-8939.
 

THE REGISTRATION PROCESS/CONFIRMATION

 After reading this entire page, you can register on the Volunteer Registration page beginning on Wednesday, March 15th.

 We will communicate through email and texts, so make sure you put down an email that will be checked often and current mobile number.

 If you are not currently enrolled in our programs, please go to the Documents tab and print out the Teen Leader required Medical Release Form and Code of Conduct form to be completed and returned to our Faith Formation/Youth Ministry office.
