Family VBS Camp Out Q & A
Q: What is the Family VBS Camp Out?
A: We know that families have hectic schedules and a lot going on. We have planned this weekend as an opportunity for your family to slow down a bit, spend time together, learn about Jesus, and enjoy time in God’s creation. On Saturday afternoon and evening we will have worship, games, a hay ride, service projects, cook-out, and more. Sunday we will have a family worship service followed by a church-wide picnic with a photo opportunity with a longhorn.
Q: When is the Family VBS Camp Out?
A: Registration for the camp out begins Saturday, July 27 at 1:00pm. Our activities will begin by 2:00pm. Activities will take place throughout the afternoon and evening. Then families can camp out overnight on the ranch. The following morning, Sunday, July 28, we will have a worship service, which the children will be participating in, and church picnic at the ranch. All activities will wrap up around 2:00pm.
Q: Who can participate in the Family VBS Camp Out?
A: All ages are welcome to participate (whether you have children, grandchildren or not), we are all a part of God’s family! We just ask that all children who participate have an adult with them at the ranch. We want to keep this a family event and will not be providing childcare.
Q: Do we need to provide our own camping equipment?
A: There will be space & time for each family to set up their own camp area, whether it be tent or camper (we will not have water/electric hook-ups). Families are responsible for bringing their own equipment for spending the night. However, if you do not have camping equipment we do have a resource where you can rent it. Just mark that on your registration form and we will be in contact with you to coordinate the rental.
Q: Does my family have to stay overnight to participate?
A: While the event is designed to be a Family Camp Out, we understand that some families may choose to return home to sleep. You are welcome to come and stay as long as you would like and then head home. We encourage you to join back up with us the next morning for worship and our delicious picnic.
Q: Do we need to provide our own food?
A: Please eat lunch before you arrive on Saturday. After that meal, we will provide snacks, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, and Sunday lunch. If you follow a special diet though, you are welcome to bring your own food.
