This year during our Maker Fun Factory week we will be focusing on three different local missions: The Ronald McDonald House of Durham, the Diaper Bank of North Carolina and Burlington Animal Services.  All three of these local missions, with the help of donations, do amazing things for families, children and animals.

The Ronald McDonald House of Durham offers a comforting home away from home and a community of support for seriously ill children and their families. They provide families with the comforts of home- private bedrooms, inviting community spaces, home-cooked meals and a stocked kitchen, a playroom, computer room and laundry facilities-as well as a network of support through interactions with other families, staff and volunteers. Families with a sick child face immense emotional, physical and financial challenges. Knowing that the Ronald McDonald House of Durham will be there to support them in a safe and caring environment helps to alleviate some of these challenges.

The Diaper Bank of North Carolina works to ensure that families receive hygiene products they need by working with established family support organizations to distribute diapers to low income families. Using existing networks the Diaper Bank of North Carolina can efficiently get diapers to those in greatest need. The goal is to make it possible for every family in North Carolina to have access to basic necessities to support their dignity, health and quality of life. One in three families faces the daily crisis of diaper need. You  can be part of the ongoing campaign to bridge this diaper gap today, tomorrow and in the future.

Burlington Animal Services is always in need of donations. They use them to help pets at their facility and in the community. They gladly accept donations of many supplies such as: leashes and collars, blankets, bath towels, pet beds, dog and cat toys and treats, peanut butter, pet food, and more.
