The coronavirus pandemic has continued to change many areas of our lives. As parents and families, one of the hardest consequences we have faced has been changed plans, cancelled celebrations & events, or learning how to navigate new procedures and the "new normal."

As a church, we have had to make major adjustments to how we celebrate what makes us uniquely Catholic: the sacraments. Decisions have been tough, but we remain steadfast in our faith and in the knowledge that the Holy Spirit will guide us to be close to the presence of our Creator and Redeemer. Please see below to know how Epiphany is moving forward with these celebrations.

Baptism

  • At this time, we are not able to celebrate the sacrament of Baptism within the context of a weekend Mass, as we have typically done in the past. Instead, baptisms can be held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after our 8:30am daily Mass. To begin the preparation process and to schedule a baptism, please contact Jessica Smith at 386-767-6111 or at jsmith@catholicchurchofepiphany.com.

First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion

  • Due to COVID, those children preparing to receive these sacraments in 2020 were unable to move forward as planned. We have been holding these precious children in our prayers as they continue to yearn for this experience of Christ.
  • Moving forward, those children who were preparing to receive the sacraments in 2020 will now receive these sacraments in the spring of 2021. As we come to know more about how this pandemic has progressed, we will absolutely implement health and safety procedures for the sacraments, and will have flex preparation options available for families.
  • For those children who were preparing to receive these sacraments in 2021 (grade 2 and above), we will move forward as normal with their preparation process.
  • When registering your child, please mark in the drop-down menu if they plan on receiving in 2021.
  • More information about preparation dates and dates for the sacraments will be shared as we know more.

Confirmation

  • The sacrament of Confirmation at Epiphany will be celebrated with Bishop Noonan on Sunday, January 24th at the 6pm Mass.
  • We are committed to getting our youth (grade 9 and above) spiritually prepared to receive this sacrament.
  • If your child is interested in preparing to receive this sacrament, please attend our Parent & Youth Info Meeting on Tuesday, October 6th at 6pm in the Parish Center.
