Tell us about yourself:

Who can volunteer?

Students who have completed 6th-12th grade are welcome to volunteer as crew leaders and station assistants.

Every effort will be made to pair our 6th grade student volunteers with a high school student or an adult to serve in an apprenticing role.

Are you struggling to decide if your 6th grader should be a student participant or volunteer?

Read the questions below. If you can answer most with “always” or “usually”, then your son/daughter is probably ready to serve as a volunteer. If you find yourself answering with “sometimes,” “rarely,” or “never”, please register your him or her as a student participant so that he/she can participate in our student program for one more year.

  • Christ-like servant attitude – Does he/she love Jesus and look for ways to help others without being asked?
  • Respect for authority and boundaries – Does he/she follow adult leaders’ directions consistently? Can he/she complete tasks the way they’re asked? Does he/she respect personal space and safety guidelines? Can he/she stay where he/she is assigned?
  • Self-control and stamina – Can he/she manage frustration, excitement, and disappointment appropriately, and help younger students do the same? Can he/she stay engaged throughout a multi-hour program?
  • Positive influence and willingness to serve small group of younger students – Does he/she encourage others rather than distract or exclude? Does he/she enjoy helping younger kids? Can he/she help keep kids focused during crafts, games, or lessons?

Your child may not be ready to volunteer at VBS yet if he/she: frequently distracts peers, struggles with authority, needs high levels of supervision, or becomes overwhelmed easily.

I want to volunteer, but I have kids under 4!

Nursery care will be available for our volunteers who have kids 3 years old and younger. To request nursery care, complete this form: Nursery Care Registration. Please note that this form is just a request. Nursery capacity is limited by classroom space and nursery volunteer availability.

How do I know which "job" I will get?

During VBS there are countless ways to serve, but not everyone can have the same role. Volunteers work together to provide students with the very best possible VBS experience based on the unique gifts and talents that each leader has to offer. We need approximately 80 youth and adult crew leaders (50 for elementary and 30 for preschool), and over 30 station leaders and assistants. The more volunteers we get, the more students that we can serve!

Our VBS Team will assign roles based on your strengths and abilities as well as the program needs.

Multiple selections are allowed.
