This year we are offering family ministry with several components:
- Family Formation: where families of children in elementary grades (1-5) will come together, share a light meal/snack, and a faith building activity with discussion and time to work together.
-
KidZone: For toddlers through pre-K, KidZone is on Sunday mornings during both AM Masses in KidZone downstairs. KidZone is also offered during Family Formation for toddlers too small to participate.
-
Sunday School for preschool-kdg. (4&5 year olds not yet in kindergarten) takes place on Sunday mornings at 10:10-11 AM following the Family Formation calendar; in room 218 in the Newman Center. Parents can take part in Family Formation during this time.
- Middle School (MS) Small Group For middle school students we have separate gatherings 3-4 times per month. Dates and details on separate calendar. Taylor Hansen is leading the MS Core Team.
-
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW) happens during both Sunday Masses for children in K-5th grade during the school year. Children hear God's Word and reflect on it with their adult leaders and return for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. (All are welcome to join at anytime and do not need to register for CLW, but it is helpful.)
Family Formation topics are designed to enhance understanding and practice of our Catholic faith in the home. Time to gather with other families is meant to build community and fellowship. We will gather approximately once per month for formation and once for a special event such as the Saints Wax Museum in October.
Registration includes initial materials for families and a packet to be sent home each month with additional activities and resources for use during the month.
Meals/ snacks will be provided, at least initially, and a free will donation will be accepted to cover the cost of food. Families may decide to take turns providing the snacks/meals as we get rolling.
We ask for a registration and materials fee of $50 per family, but no child/family will be turned away because of finances. Scholarship is available, just indicate your request in the "scholarship" box.
Parents are encouraged to share ideas and constructive criticism with us at anytime. We are here to serve you. Contact Patti Cassidy at pcassidy@ctkmsla.org or 406-728-3845 ext.228.
