One of the greatest privileges we have as a church is the opportunity to celebrate sacraments together -- outward signs of inward grace! We rejoice at any opportunity we have to share in anyone's baptism, first reconciliation, first Eucharist, Confirmation and beyond!
Please see the information below on how Epiphany can help you & your child on the sacramental journey.
Baptism
- We are happy to work with families who are seeking baptism for their infant, young child, or older youth! Please let us know your desires and we're happy to guide you and accompany you on the journey!
- If you're seeking baptism for your child(ren), the process always begins with a meeting with our pastor, Fr. Karl. Then, families typically have a conversation with Jessica or another member of the faith formation team, to discuss some of the joys of baptism. Once these meetings are finished, we can begin the process of choosing a date, filling out paperwork, and working with the logistics of the day.
- Most baptisms occur within the context of a Mass, either a weekend celebration or during a daily Mass. Logistical details will be decided with Jessica, Fr. Karl, and the family.
- Please indicate in the drop-down box that you are interested in having your child receive baptism when you register them. (If you'd like baptism for your infant, simply email Jessica directly at jsmith@ccepiphany.com).
First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion
- Children who have reached the "age of reason" (seven years-old; second-grade or older) and have been baptized, are encouraged to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion for the first time.
- All sacraments require that children and families be properly prepared before receiving said sacrament. Therefore, children who wish to receive Reconciliation and Communion must be prepared. Epiphany offers a preparation program that is in addition to our regular faith formation gatherings.
- When registering your child, please mark in the drop-down menu if you are interested in having your child (2nd grade and older) receive these sacraments in this formation year.
- More information about preparation dates and dates for the sacraments is forthcoming as we finalize the calendar.
Confirmation
- The sacrament of Confirmation at Epiphany will be celebrated with Bishop Noonan on Sunday, January 12th at our Sunday evening 5pm Mass.
- We are committed to getting our youth (grade 9 and above) spiritually prepared to receive this sacrament.
- If your child is interested in preparing to receive this sacrament, please contact Jessica Smith for information.
