What is Awana?

Awana is an international parachurch organization that, for over 60 years, has come alongside churches to help them evangelize and train the youth in their communities. It is their prayer, “That all children and youth throughout the world will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Awana brings scripture memorization to kids in a fun and engaging format. Together boys and girls keep their minds and hearts active by diving into God’s Word and keep their bodies moving in fun and high energy games.

Awana works with churches from over 100 different denominations. Each week over 12,000 Awana clubs are run nationally, as well as more than 6,000 outside of U.S. borders.

The letters in the word Awana stand for “Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed,” as based on the scripture found in 2 Timothy 2:15.
