We are excited to offer Awana Kids Clubs in 2021!

We want to keep everyone healthy in this era of Covid. We will offer clubs in two forms: in-person and online. You can choose whichever format feels right for your family.

As we begin this Awana year, here are our plans for those who are meeting in person:

  • We will not require face coverings as we begin the year.  Of course, kids and leaders are free to wear face coverings if you choose to do so.
  • We will plan to have a more "normal" group game time for both the Sparks and the T&T groups.
  • We will have a brief closing awards ceremony in the sanctuary.  Small groups will be seated together, with some spacing between groups.  Parents are welcome to come to the closing awards ceremony to cheer for their kids
  • Our church leadership may make changes to this plan if we feel that they are needed.  We will do our best to notify you of any changes as early as we can
  • Since we are not requiring masks, it will be vital that parents keep their kids home if they are not feeling well, or if they have been exposed to someone who has covid.
  • If your child did not go to school or came home early from school due to sickness, then do not send them to Awana clubs that evening, even if they say they are feeling better.   It is better to err on the side of caution.
  • If a child becomes ill while they are at Awana Clubs, then we will call their parents - sick kids will need to be picked up immediately in order to minimize contact with others.

Virtual Awana groups - In addition to in-person classes, we will plan to offer online groups each week for those who do not feel ready to meet in person. These online groups would meet at the same time (Wednesdays at 6:30).  However, virtual meetings may not last as long as in-person meetings

  • Group leaders will lead these online groups from their home using Zoom video conferencing
  • Zoom meetings will be closed, with passwords required before anyone will be admitted
  • These zoom meetings will be similar to in-person meetings – Bible stories, handbook time, perhaps a craft or game that everyone can do in their own home
  • In order to address potential conflicts with technology and internet bandwidth for families with multiple kids, we may offer family based groups instead of age-based groups
  • We will work to help parents as they help their kids learn verses and participate online
  • Online kids would need to register as well
  • We will have online award presentations for online groups. Families can make arrangements to pick up their awards sometime during the week
