Dear Families,

We know the world is a crazy place right now. Times are "unprecedented" and things are "crazy." Please know of our specific prayers for you, your families, and your children.

The coronavirus pandemic has obviously changed things for our parish community, as it has in so many other areas of our lives. Please know we place the safety & health of our community members, our families, and especially our youngest parishioners as our top priority. This is why we're offering some flex options for families this year when it comes to faith formation.

We will hold in-person gatherings, implementing new health & safety procedures. We have implemented the following:

  • Temperature checks will be taken upon entrance, where families will also sign-in.
  • Masks/face coverings will be required for all participants. Hand sanitizer will abundantly available.
  • We will be meeting in the Parish Center, to allow for social distancing.
  • Our meeting space is cleaned/sanitized thoroughly and often by staff before and after gatherings.
  • For catechetical sessions: Instead of small classrooms, we will have engaging family activities that cover one topic together. (This format will continue through December 2020, and we will reevaluate as necessary come January 2021.)
  • For community sessions: We will implement all safety & health procedures while still offering fun community events for everyone!
  • Note about Middle School Students: Our middle school formation program is a hybrid of our family formation program and a youth ministry program. When Family Formation meets (1st and 3rd Sundays), middle school students will gather together in the Parish Center for activities/topics with our community. For the weeks in-between, students meet as a middle school youth ministry for prayer, reflection, formation, and yes, of course, games, fellowship, and fun, in Parish House #5, our youth house! Masks required.
  • Sessions will be shorted, to limit the time spent in one space.
  • Lunch will still be provided, but will be individually boxed by the vendor for distribution.

For those who are not ready to return in-person, we are offering both digital and at-home resources. Materials for activities will be made available to families, which can be done at home.

We are committed to serving all of our families in whatever way we can. Again, please know of our prayers for you and if there is anything we can do, please do not hesitate to contact Jessica Smith at 386-767-6111 or at jsmith@catholicchurchofepiphany.com.
