Our opening ceremony will start each evening at 5:30, followed by a free, light dinner for each VBS participant and their family members.

After dinner, the kids will go on the ultimate Alaskan adventure where the northern lights shine over majestic mountains, racing rivers, and sparkling glaciers. As they trek the tundra, they’ll discover how easy it is to lose sight of what's true in our wild world today. Guiding them towards Jesus, True North VBS reveals that He is a faithful friend we can always trust. He's our True North!

The kids will learn daily Bible points and key Bible verses, and watch inspiring Bible stories. Don’t worry, you don’t have to pay for anything, but donations are gratefully accepted! However, we are limited to 60 children, so register early!  If you have difficulty registering online, call Dana at 941.979.9927.

Dinner

A free dinner is part of our VBS program and will be served to each VBS participant after the opening ceremony. All other members of your family (kids and adults) are invited to join us for dinner, if you so choose. We hope you can stay, observe the VBS opening, and eat with your VBS kids during the early part of the evening. We ask that you please indicate ahead of time the number of adults and number of children (including your VBS child) who will be eating each evening. Sign up for the Monday dinner in the comments section of the VBS Registration Form (ex: Mon 2A+3C); sign up for the rest of the week at the Registration Table during the week of VBS. Each meal will include a juice box or water, and a fruit cup or applesauce. The dinner to be served each day (subject to change) is:

Monday ~ Chicken Nuggets &  Baked Beans

Tuesday ~ Walking Tacos

Wednesday ~ Sloppy Joes & Tater Tots

Thursday ~ Spaghetti & Meatballs

Friday ~ Pizza & Pudding

If your child has a food allergy to any of the dinners, please send with your child something that he or she can eat that evening. We will also need to know about food allergies for the nightly snack that will be served. Please indicate that information on the Registration Form.

VBS Mission

VBS is a time of learning more about God through Bible stories, songs, and games. It is also a time for the children to learn about giving back. Our missions provide a way for children to learn the value of investing in Kingdom work using their own gifts and talents.

Our VBS mission this year is helping the children at Residing Hope (formerly known as the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home). At the Children’s Home, donated funds play a huge role in the purchase of items the children and youth need and want. Our VBS kids are encouraged to make a donation of any size each evening for the Children’s Home. As in previous years, there will be a challenge to see who can donate more money – the boys or the girls!

VBS Week

Remember that VBS starts at 5:30pm, so arrive early at the Registration Table which opens at 5:00. Mondays are extremely hectic, so please come a little extra early that day. A name tag will be given to VBS participants each day. PARENTS, BE SURE TO SIGN YOUR CHILD IN AND OUT EVERY EVENING!

If you have any questions, please contact Holly Tozer, our Children’s Director, at GCUMCkids@gmail.com or text her at 517.260.6167.

See you at VBS!!
