Below you'll find the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about Vacation Bible School. If you need help finding the answer to your question, contact Megan Freisleben at megan@clcfamily.church.

1) What grade should I register my child or children for this summer at VBS?

Please register your children to be in the grade that they will enter for the 2025/2026 school year.

We will not be hosting a Preschool age VBS this year, all children will need to be entering Kindergarten or older to attend VBS.

2) How do I enter the CLC in the morning when dropping off my child?

Our VBS registration will take place in our main lobby this year. Look for the Main Entrance, on the right hand side of our parking lot. Check in is done by grade, and we'll have registration volunteers to help get you checked in and give you your child's name tag. If your child has food allergies you will also be asked to "ok" our snack of the day. After registration our greeters will be available to guide you to your child's drop off location. This year children will be dropped off directly in our Sanctuary. We ask that you accompany each of your children to their drop off location every morning of VBS.

After dropping off your child, you can exit the building or stay and watch our Opening Celebration in the Sanctuary. Our indoor coffee shop, The Big Yellow Mug, will also be open during VBS for you to enjoy a delicious beverage or treat! The coffee shop has free WiFi and spacious seating. You can visit our coffee shop's Facebook page for more information. https://www.facebook.com/BigYellowMug

3) When can I drop my child off for Vacation Bible School each morning?

Our check-in tables at VBS open every morning at 8:45 AM. Our opening celebration begins at 9:00 AM every morning in our Sanctuary.

4) What does my child need to bring with them every day to VBS?

We recommend your child wear comfortable clothes and shoes every day at VBS in order to be able to participate easily in our games station (this will be held indoors).

If your child wants to bring a water bottle to VBS, please label it. However, we serve snacks and water every morning (you can visit the details page for more information on what snacks we serve each day), so a water bottle is unnecessary.

If your child would prefer to bring a snack from home (due to allergies or food preferences) they may choose to do so, we highly recommend you also label any snacks they choose to bring.

5) Will my child get wet at VBS?

No your child will not be getting wet at this year's VBS. There will be no water games or activities.

6) When do I need to pick up my child from VBS?

Our Closing Celebration takes place every day in the Sanctuary at 12:05 PM. You are welcome to join us for the celebration and sit in the back pews or chairs. After our Closing Celebration, children will be dismissed to their classrooms for pick-up. Please pick up your child from their classroom, not the Sanctuary (except for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders) or as children are in route to their classrooms. If you do not wish to watch the Closing Celebration, our dismissal time begins at 12:30 PM.

7) Can my child arrive late or be picked up early from VBS if we have other events or plans on a specific day?

Yes, your child can attend VBS for a portion of the day.

If you plan on dropping your child off later than 9:00 AM or picking up your child earlier than 12:30 PM, please email Megan Freisleben at megan@clcfamily.church ahead of time to let us know your plans. We also ask that you make your child's Classroom Leader aware if possible.

Our volunteers can assist you when you arrive (to drop off late or pick up early) to find the location of your child's class. Visit our registration area for help when you arrive.

Children also do not have to attend every day of VBS and are welcome to join us for one, two, three, or all four days!

8) Can my child request to be in the same class as a friend?

Yes, you can request that your child be placed with a friend or relative. There is a section on our participant registration form for you to enter that information. If your child's friend or relative is in a different grade please email Megan Freisleben at megan@clcfamily.church for more information on how we can make that possible. When combining children of different grades older children are placed in the younger child's group.

9) I can't volunteer but would like to help by donating snacks to VBS is that possible?

Yes, we are gladly accepting snack donations for our VBS program. We have created an Amazon Wish List with the items we need for this year's snack station. Items you order will be delivered directly to the church campus. Thank you!

10) When is this year's closing celebration?

This year's closing celebration will be held on Sunday, July 27th during a special morning service at 10:00am. Our VBS crew will be taking over the service to include special worship (with the children leading the motions) and sermon that will wrap up our VBS weekly theme. Families are also invited to a picnic following the service to help us celebrate the end of our VBS week. We'll have food, games, and special crafts. More details coming soon, make sure to check out the closing celebration page for updated information.
