Volunteer Information

Volunteering at Vacation Bible School can be one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have.  There is nothing quite like seeing a child learning about God and coming to an understanding of who He is.  There are many roles that help make VBS successful and each has needs for willing people to step-up and serve.  There is a Job Description Tab that describes the many ways in which you can volunteer and be a part of Vacation Bible School.

We do ask that you attend a Training Session the night before VBS begins as well as one of the orientation meetings that will be advertised in the church bulletin.  These times of preparation help to ensure that everyone knows their role and is ready to make VBS happen when children start to arrive the first night.

It is our preference that people volunteer for all 4 nights, but understand that someone may not be able to commit to this schedule.  If you can only attend a night or two, please indicate that on your application.  There are some jobs that have a preference for husband and wife teams.  While this is not a requirement, it seems to work well and encourages spouses to work together in ministry.

As a benefit to you, The Church at Indian Lake will be providing childcare in our nursery for children of volunteers that are not at least Kindergarten age.  Please indicate on your volunteer application if you will be needing to use this benefit.

If you have any questions, please call the church office and leave me a message.

Sincerely,

Pastor Chip Johnson
