Sunday School at Christ the King is for all ages - children, teens, and adults.
Children in Grades PK through 5th enjoy a traditional "classroom" Sunday School with a new Bible story each week. The lessons weave in various hands-on activities and experiences to bring the stories to life. Each child has an assigned kit of materials (crayons or colored pencils, glue stick, scissors) to minimize sharing of supplies. The classes will meet outside at various places on the church campus, weather permitting; on days that we cannot meet outside, the classes will move indoors to large classrooms that allow for appropriate distancing. All teachers and all students will wear masks when indoors.
Students in Grades 6th through 8th participate in our Confirmation program, culminating in the Affirmation of Baptism for eligible 8th graders in late May 2021. The program is equal parts learning and fun, with great "junior high" youth group activities. Confirmation students will meet outside at the Fire Pit, weather permitting, or in the 6th grade classroom or by Zoom when unable to meet outside.
Our Senior High students (grades 9 - 12) enjoy lively discussions (and doughnuts!), and morph into our Youth Group for other fun, non-Sunday-morning activities such as Games nights and service projects. The Senior High class will meet in the High School Youth Room.
Our Adult class is "Love God, Love Your Neighbor", where the first part of each class is spent focusing on a particular Bible text or story, and the second part of each class is spent on finding ways to apply that text to our lives and to help our neighbors. The Adult class meets in Luther's Lounge with option to participate by Zoom.
There is always room for more, whether students or teachers, so join us in learning God's Word so that we can share it freely.
