Camp Firelight Family VBX (Vacation Bible eXperience)

Calling all Campers! Bring the whole family out to Corpus Christi First UMC from 5-7:30pm Sunday June 23- Thursday June 27 for Camp Firelight Family Vacation Bible eXperience- a summer camp adventure with God for ALL AGES!

Each evening families will come together to experience adventures that teach us to trust that God will go with us, lead the way, share wisdom, to give us peace, and spark joy as we celebrate the good news of Jesus in our own lives and in the lives of others. We will also learn ways we can connect with and put our trust in God whenever we are afraid, challenged, or called to do God’s work in the world and share the Good News of God’s love through Jesus Christ.

To help make it family-friendly and and worry-free, we will start each evening with a Camp Cookout where dinner will be provided while we gather for some table talk and Mission Mail Call to serve & share God's love with people near and far. At Opening Campfire, we will learn new songs and discover each day's Bible focus. Then our campers will rotate between the Creation Cabin where they will make some cool camp crafts to bring home, the Adventure Outpost where they use fun, active team games to learn more about loving God and loving each other, the Nature Discovery Center where they will meet special community helpers who will share ways to connect with God's creation, and then Fireside Stories of Faith to explore timeless Bible stories from both Old and New Testament.

This VBX is designed to be intergenerational so families and friends can participate together. We strongly encourage a responsible adult to register to attend with their child(ren) or children they will be responsible for. Children ages 4 years old -entering 6th grade who register without a responsible adult able to attend with them will be assigned to a group of peers of a similar age or grade with Trusted certified adults as their guides. Any 7th-12th graders can serve as Youth Leaders. For younger children 3 years and under, they can be with their responsible adult and go through the rotations or there will be a Puddle Jumpers area available in our Nursery with age appropriate toys and activities that use the same Bible stories and camping theme for them to experience if you would prefer.

It’s all the adventure, fun, music, and joy of a regular VBS but now the adults don’t have to miss out! We hope you’ll join us for this fun family adventure and please bring or invite your friends & neighbors!
