VBS 2021 COVID-Procedures:

The VBS leadership team has prayed and discerned deeply over how to best serve as many children as possible in the safest manner possible.

  1. All children and volunteers will be wearing masks when indoors as well as outdoors if they are not able to socially distance. We are planning games to spread children out with the hopes to not have to have them wear masks. In addition, snack and Imagination station will be held outside if weather permits.
  2. We have moved VBS to our Macungie Campus for this year because the sanctuary is much larger and we will be able to spread out more.
  3. Hand sanitizing stations will be available at each station.
  4. We will be capping the number of children who are able to attend both AM and PM sessions to conform to current CDC guidelines. While we typically have about 280 children in the AM, this year we will limit it to 240. We typically have 120 children in our PM session, but are able to accommodate 180 this year. It is our deepest desire to have space for every child who wants to attend, however, this may mean that some families will need to consider coming to our PM session instead.
  5. Crews will be set up with whole family groups. This means your children will all be in the same crew with 2-3 other families until there are approximately 10 children in the crew. This will reduce your child’s exposure to other families while allowing us to accommodate more children into the same space since families will not need to socially distance from each other. In addition, this will allow for a safer and easier pick-up procedure. When you register your child(ren), if you have a friend request, please understand that you are requesting an entire other family. We will honor as many requests as possible.
  6. Snacks will be bagged ahead of time so children will not be sharing food off the same plate. They will grab a bag and head off with their crew to sit on the grass.
  7. During Imagination Station, Games and Closing, children will be sharing common items at times such as wind up trains, etc.
