Vacation Bible School (VBS) Behavior Policy

1. Expectations for Volunteers and Staff

Leaders and volunteers are expected to:

  • Model Christ-like behavior.
  • Use respectful language.
  • Supervise participants actively to help ensure safe environments.
  • Communicate concerns promptly to the VBS Leaders or staff.
  • Respect physical boundaries with children and other volunteers.
  • Respect all church property and supplies.

2. Discipline and Correction for VBS participants

If behavior problems or harm towards oneself or others occur, we will follow these steps:

  1. Warning: The leader explains the behavior that needs to change to the child.
  2. Parent communication: If behavior continues, parents will be notified and potentially asked to provide a parent or adult to stay at VBS with their child.
  3. Dismissal: In rare cases of continued disruption or purposeful harm, the child may be asked to leave the program for the safety and well-being of others.
