The North Tonawanda Inter-Church Food Pantry has been in operation since 1981 and is part of the Twin Cities Community Outreach that also includes a Clothes Closet and Meals on Wheels. People come to the pantry from social services programs, referrals from pastors or may walk in and serves the areas of Tonawanda, North Tonawanda, Wheatfield, Bergholtz and Pendleton. The Food Pantry is a United Way agency and is linked to the Food Bank of WNY. They are also recipients of a HPNAP grant and receives USDA food too.


There is a paid coordinator but all other staff is volunteer. Monetary donations are also appreciated and can be sent to 100 Ridge Street, N Tonawanda NY 14120.

At the VBS Pick Up Event, we are going to fill a train of boxes with non-perishable food for the Food Pantry. Items the pantry can use include:

  • pancake mix and syrup
  • dried grains (rice, quinoa) and pasta
  • dry cereal (hot or cold)
  • canned pasta
  • peanut butter & jelly
  • spaghetti & sauce
  • instant pudding and gelatin
  • boxed meals or macaroni & cheese
  • canned meats, fruits, tuna, vegetables or juice
  • canned or dry soup
  • coffee, tea or hot chocolate
