Vacation Bible School is open to kids from preschool age up to entering grade 6 in the fall. All the preschoolers registered for VBS MUST be potty trained, as it is stated in our bathroom policy here at Summit Drive, that volunteers may not go into the bathroom stalls with the children.
The curriculum that we use for this event does a great job of reaching the large age group that we have in attendance. Throughout the morning, the children will move through several stations that will increase their knowledge of Jesus in several different ways.
The stations they move through include; Bible Discovery, Imagination Station, games, and snack. We begin and end our day with songs, and some activities on the stage, and we encourage parents to come back a little early at the end of each day to be a part of our closing for each day.
In Bible Discovery, the children learn the bible story of the day. In Imagination station, they make a craft and do activities in connection to the large bible point of the day. In Kidvid Cinema, (a short video watched during snack time) the children watch videos of how other children around the world have dealt with challenges and hard times, and have witnessed God working in their lives.
