VBS Teen Leaders are:

Senior Crew Leaders, Junior Crew Leaders, Preschool Senior Crew Leaders, Preschool Junior Crew Leaders and Station Leaders (Bible stories, Craft, Games, Music, Photography and Tech.) who are incoming 7th graders through 2026 high school graduates.

Teen Leaders are ENTHUSIASTIC, RELIABLE, they LOVE to share the love of JESUS and ENJOY guiding our Preschoolers through 6th graders.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE REGISTERING...

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL TEEN LEADERS (DETAILS BELOW):

  1. Should be available the entire week of VBS: Monday, June 22nd to Friday, June 26th from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM daily.
  2. Must attend two (2) mandatory trainings. Even if you have been a teen leader in the past. Returning teen leaders are wonderful mentors to our first time leaders, and honestly, we are all always growing and are never 100% trained.
  3. Sign up for a mandatory work shift. Click HERE.

DATES AND TIMES YOU WILL NEED TO BE AVAILABLE THE ENTIRE WEEK OF VBS:

  • Monday, June 22nd to Friday, June 26th from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM 

TWO (2) MANDATORY TRAINING SESSIONS:

  • Training # 1 - Sunday, May 17 at 12:00 PM Mass-3:15 PM
  • Training #2 - Thursday, June 18 at 6:00-8:00 PM

Please note that VBS takes place Monday through Friday. It is very disruptive to our little campers when they do not have the same leaders for the entire week (it provides security for them) and heartbreaking to some when their leaders are not there on the last day to wish them a proper farewell. Friday is a very special day for the Crews. If you cannot commit to the entire week, please register for the Wait List job.

LEADER JOB DESCRIPTIONS: Three (3) Crew Leaders will be assigned a group of around 7 campers. They stay with the same crew all week and take the campers through the stations. Teens can only sign up for ONE POSITION ONLY. If your first choice is not available when you register, please sign up on the WAIT LIST POSITION or email Kristin at kcrews@sjasr.org to add you on the wait list.

  • SENIOR CREW LEADER: For teens going into 10th grade or above. (36 positions available)
  • JUNIOR CREW LEADER: For teens going into 7th grade through 9th grade. (36 positions available)
  • PRESCHOOL Sr. & Jr. CREW LEADERS: For teens that will work with our Adult Leaders and lead our preschool group and rotate through our different stations. 8 positions available. (4 senior crew spots and 4 junior crew spots available.)
  • STATION LEADERS: They will start their day welcoming the campers, then they will work at their assigned station. You have the choice of helping at the following:
  1. Crafts 6 positions available
  2. Games 4 positions available
  3. Music 2 positions available open for both middle school & high school
  4. Photography 2 positions available open for both middle school & high school and
  5. Technology 2 positions available open for high school

THE REGISTRATION PROCESS/CONFIRMATION

  • After reading the entire page, you can register on the Volunteer Registration page on Monday, February 16th at 6:00 AM. (Until we go live with the system at that time, the registration tab will not be visible.)
  • The "Wait List Job" field is used if the position you want is full OR if you cannot be there for the entire VBS week. We will contact you to verify your job preference or availability.
  • We will communicate through email and texts, so make sure you put down an email that will be checked often.
  • If you are currently not enrolled in our programs, please download, fill out the REQUIRED MEDICAL RELEASE FORM and send it to Kristin Crews at kcrews@sjasr.org or you can drop off or mail it to the Faith Formation Office.
  • If you do not see the position you are looking for, that means that all spots in that area have been filled. Please choose the Wait List Job and in the "Wait List Preferred Job" field write down your desired VBS position. If a job opens up, you will be notified via email.

MODE OF PAYMENT:

You may click HERE to pay for your Teen Leader's fee online. We also accept cash, check (payable to St. Joan of Arc) or you can pay in person using credit card.
