In order to comply with state guidelines to reduce the number of people in the building and as a convenience to you, we will have a drop-off car line.  We are working through the details and will post those instructions soon.

How do I pick up my child?
In order to comply with state guidelines to reduce the number of people in the building and as a convenience to you, we will have a pick-up car line. We are working through the details and will post those instructions soon.

Can I request a friend to be in the same group as my child?
Children are placed in mixed age crews which encourages relationship building and teamwork in a family-like group for a week. It is OK if your child does not know anyone in his/her crew on Day 1. By the end of the week, your child will have had the opportunity to build relationships with new friends. You may request one friend to be in the same group as your child. That friend must also request your child in order for our computer system to recognize the request and place them together. Crew assignments are finalized the weekend before VBS begins.

Should my child bring anything?
No, unless something is medically necessary. S/he should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Please have your child leave all devices or toys at home.

Should I send a snack?
We will provide fun snacks that fit the theme of the day. If your child cannot have all parts of the snack we are serving, we request that you send an appropriate snack that day. A snack list and ingredients are available upon request.

Does my child need to wear a mask?
Masks are not required.  Seeing a person's full face is important in reading social cues, observing emotional state and physical health, and building relationships. If your child wears a mask, s/he will need to remove it for snack time.

How will St. John handle social distancing?
We are limiting the number of participants in order to spread out the crews within each station.  We will have a car line for drop-off and pick-off. In the building, we will social distance where possible between crews.  Children will be in the same crew all week, and will interact with the same ~20 people for the week.  We will spread those groups out in the Worship center when we gather for the Opening and Closing.

What additional cleaning measures are you taking?
The building will be completely cleaned each evening. We will not be spraying chemicals around the children. We will disinfect as needed should someone become ill when in the building. We will use a mechanical cleaning of tables and chairs where needed between groups. Each crew leader will have hand-sanitizer with them all morning, and crews will either wash hands with soap and water or use hand-sanitizer between each station.
