Hello Families!

We are looking forward to sharing an incredible week with you at this year's VBS program!  Here's some info about how we do VBS at Redlands Church to help your family know what to expect and have a marvelous journey into "Alaska" with us!

  • VBS will be held from 6:00-7:45 pm from June 23-27, and we will conclude the week with Family Sabbath School and a special all-church Worship Service starting at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 28!
  • REGISTRATION is required, so please sign your kids up as soon as possible!  We love it when you bring along friends, family, neighbors, etc, so share the registration link with your guests so that their grown ups can register them as well!
  • There is NO CHARGE for your family to attend our VBS, but we do ask that if you register, you commit to attending our program for the week!  If you need to cancel your registration, please communicate with our church office (call 909-793-6337 or email office@redlandschurch.com) to release your reservation so we can host another family!
  • We do VBS FAMILY STYLE, which means that ALL PARTICIPATING KIDS NEED TO BE ACCOMPANIED FOR THE DURATION OF THE VBS PROGRAM EACH EVENING BY THEIR PARENT/GUARDIAN (Don't worry parents--we think you'll have fun, too, and have some special plans up our flannel sleeves for you again this year)!  We encourage you to really invest in being present with your kids during this experience:  sing along, do the song motions, play, encourage, and embrace the opportunity to share a spiritually significant week with your kid/s!
  • The content and activities of our VBS program have been designed for kids between the AGES OF 4-12 YEARS OLD (preschool through 6th grade).
  • If you have YOUNGER KIDS that you would like to bring, we're excited to have them attend for as much of the program is developmentally appropriate for them!  Our event opens with a 30 minute worship time each evening that we think they'll especially love!  When that part of the program ends, you are welcome to walk them around to the other areas/activities as they (and you) are comfortable.  Please keep in mind that our activities may involve the use of items that could pose a choking hazard, or involve slightly more advanced motor skills suited for our target age range!  Please register kids younger than 4 as "Preschoolers."
  • Kids that are OLDER THAN THE 6TH GRADE TARGET AGE should not plan to attend unless they are registered as VOLUNTEERS (and they are eligible to volunteer if they will be going into the 7th grade next school year)!  Please be advised that volunteers will need to attend training and will have longer onsite hours each day!
  • Our program is mostly INDOORS, but games will be played OUTDOORS each evening.  Please help your kids dress comfortably for the heat and for play, including wearing shoes they can safely walk around in.  Please note that some of our games involve water play, and participants may be splashed!
  • We're using this year's theme of "True North" to teach our kids about DISCERNMENT--relying on and following Jesus to help us tell the difference between right and wrong, true and false, valuable and not valuable, etc. We've actually shaped our current sermon series around having this conversation with our whole church family in this season, and believe it is a valuable topic to explore together!
  • Please keep us in PRAYER as we finish our preparations and get ready to host your family!  We have been praying for you and your kids!
  • If you have any additional QUESTIONS, please contact Pastor Somer or our Church Office!

We're so excited to share this year's event with you and your family!
