This camp is designed for teenagers ages 14-18, with or without prior cooking experience. Meals will be practical, everyday options such as French toast, spaghetti, and nachos.
Campers will learn to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and experiment with flavorings to make their own meals. Campers will also learn basic cooking hygiene and prep skills.
A budget analysis will be taught to convey a basic understanding of the pricing of home-cooked meals vs. eating out. In addition, campers will compare and contrast the nutritional values of personally prepped food vs. outside options.
Attendees will need to fill out proper paperwork listing allergies, limitations (if any), and any other information that will be helpful to camp enjoyment such as favorite foods, previous cooking experience, etc…
A liability waiver and a medical release must be signed and on file before a camper can attend any class.
