The OLPH RE program offers various options to fit the needs of our parish families. The following classes are being offered this year:

  1.  Family Formation - Families will meet and break out into communities: parent, elementary and middle school "club" groups. Parents meet once per month and students meet two times per month. Sunday and Wednesday option
  2. First Reconciliation & First Communion Preparation - Students who have been baptized and are in 2nd grade and up may sign up for preparation. Each month a catechist will lead the students through a scripture meditation. Then the students will have material to help them think more about the parable. Our sacramental prep program also uses the Signs of Grace curriculum. First Communion parents meet once a month. Sunday and Wednesday option
  3. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - CGS is a Montessori based religious education program where the child cultivates a relationship with God through prayer and work. Meet weekly. Sunday and Wednesday options.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Would you like to be any of the following: (You may pick more than one of the following if your schedule allows.)

  • RE Parent Formation Facilitator - Parent Study: No Greater Love.  Would you like to help facilitate the study and encourage the parents while they work through the book together. These parents meet the 2nd meeting of the month.
  • First Communion Formation Facilitator - The First Communion parents meet once a month to receive formation through the use of the following parables: The Good Shepherd, The True Vine, The Found Sheep, The Found Coin, the Forgiving Father and the Centurion Soldier. These parents meet the 1st meeting of the month.
  • First Communion Catechist - The children will gather TWO times per  month to study specific parables aimed in their formation for the Sacrament of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion along with the Signs of Grace curriculum. Sunday and Wednesday options.
  • Little Flowers Girls Club -PreK–8th Grade

    Uses Walking with Jesus, a liturgical year-based program that brings Scripture to life through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, the saints, prayer, and family faith experiences that continues learning at home.

  • Blue Knights Boys Club -PreK–8th Grade
    Uses Walking with Jesus, a liturgical year-based program that brings Scripture to life through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, the saints, prayer, and family faith experiences that continues learning at home..  We do need dads to help with this group.
