Covid Precautions for Spring Meadows’ SDA Church VBS Program

June 7-11, 2021

Masks whileindoors. Registration table will have extra masks for whomever may need one.

The Sabbath program will request kids to keep masks on as they participate on the stage.

When dividing children into crew groups, attempt to keep family units together with other families they request to cohort with.

Each crew leader will keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer to administer to each child in their crew each day and extra masks in the event that a child needs one.

Evaluate Seating in Sanctuary to spread the crews apart from each other more than past years.

Divide the kids up into 64 crews instead of 60 crews with each crew consisting of 5-6 kids instead of up to 7 or 8 kids per crew to promote social distancing.

Limit the registered number of children to 320 as opposed to 400 in the past.

For the indoor classroom rotations of Imagination Station and Bible Adventures, have four instead of 3 of each room so that the kids can divide into groups of only 4 crews per room instead of 5 crews per room. This will keep the numbers down in the classrooms. We will also keep decoration closer to the perimeter to allow for more room to distance themselves within the rooms.

Instead of rotating crews through different Imagination Station or Bible Adventure rooms each day, they will visit the same rooms each day to keep exposures to a minimum.

Provide Hand Sanitizer at entrance at well as at each station for kids to sanitize before and after each station they visit.

Have a “Sanitization Team” of volunteers to continually wipe down doors, surfaces after kids pass by.

Make multiple announcements to families to not bring their child to VBS if they are not feeling well or have a fever.

Snack rotation will be outdoors this year instead of in the fellowship hall with prepackaged snacks for the kids to eat.
