FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.     Does my child need to bring anything?

Wear shoes suitable for outdoor games, and an application of sunscreen before arriving at VBS are both good ideas. VBS t-shirts will be distributed on the first day, and they are encouraged to wear them every day. Water is always available and snacks will be provided halfway through the morning.

2.     Can I bring my child earlier than 8:45 or have them stay later than 12:00?

No, we are sorry but we have no supervision available before or after those times.

3.     Can a friend or family member pick up my child after VBS?

Yes. Please indicate this on the daily sign-in sheet at drop-off.

4.     Can my child be placed with a friend in his/her group?

Part of the fun of attending VBS is meeting new friends.  Children rotate their daily stations by groups and each group is divided into several “crews”.  It’s possible that your child will end up in the same rotating group as some of their friends to enjoy the activities together but we can not promise this will happen.

5.     Will you accept walk-ins on the first day of camp?

No, sorry.  Our VBS frequently sells out and we maintain a waiting list in case we get a last minute cancellation. Please ensure your child has a spot by registering well ahead of time!

6.     Can my older child be a helper at VBS?

Yes, if he/she is going to be entering 6th grade or higher in the fall of 2017 and can attend a 90 minute  training session. Children younger than that are invited to attend as participants.

7.     Is there a fee to be a volunteer?

No! But there is some brief training (either attend a 90 minute training session or individual training with the VBS Director, depending on the position).  Our diocese requires all volunteers over the age of 18 to be fingerprinted and complete the Shield the Vulnerable online training program as part of the Safe Environment Plan.  If you are over 18 and planning to volunteer, please follow these directions here.

8.     Are scholarships available?

Yes.  Please contact VBS Co-Directors listed here.

9.   Where else will VBS be offered this summer in our area if my child wants to go again, or cannot attend at Holy Trinity?

We partner with two other area churches and use the same curriculum.  Please contact either Faith Episcopal Church or Foothills United Methodist Church to see if their dates work for you.  Additionally, there are many area churches that offer different versions of VBS.

10.     What is the minimum age for a preschooler to attend VBS?

All preschoolers must be age 4 or above at the time that VBS begins.

11.     My child has food allergies. Will there be food served at VBS?
